October 20th, 2005

With the beginning of autumn comes a community project that Fiorio is proud to be a supporter of. It’s called “Shave to Save” and Fiorio will be teaming up with Mix 99.9 fm to raise money for Breast Cancer.

Fiorio participated in this worth while event last year with great success. Stylists traveled to different locations all over the GTA to shave heads for this cause. Through the hard work of many sponsors and volunteers, the Shave to Save campaign was highly successful.

Stay tuned to Mix 99.9 throughout October and November to hear more about when the “shaves” will be happening, or visit their website at www.mix999.com for more information.

Recently, Fiorio took part in an amazing event - the 2005 Miss World Canada pageant!

On Saturday, July 16, thirty beautiful young women from all over Canada gathered at the Holiday Inn on King to “strut their stuff” in a competition to take home the crown and title of Miss Canada 2005. Friends, family, press and industry professionals all gathered to witness this fun-filled event.

As an official sponsor of the Miss World Canada organization, Fiorio gave its support through a group of talented stylists who made the contestants hair gorgeous! Special thanks go out to our team: Tonya Barruso and Danielle Niccolucci of Square One, Viktoria Nesterov of Richmond Hill, Sarah Reilly of Bayview, Nicole Foulis of Cumberland and Alicia Price, Christina Abreu, Holly Wagler and Sharon Leslie of Yonge St. Your talent and vision created stunning looks for the contestants and we thank you!

This year, Fiorio created a “Fiorio Woman of Style” award. The award was for the young woman with the most presence, composure, maturity, compassion and of course, style! Mr. Maurice Fiorio himself attended the pageant and chose the winner of this award. Early on in the show, when there were still thirty contestants, Mr. Fiorio informed the director of his choice. It just so happened that the winner of the title was the very same young women Mr. Fiorio had chosen for the Woman of Style Award. The winner was Ramona of Vancouver, B.C. Fiorio congratulates you!
All in all, this event was a spectacle to witness. The show was filled with talented performances and beauty was all around. The message of “beauty with a purpose” was evident in the smart, compassionate and beautiful young women who competed.

Look out for Miss Canada at the 2005 Miss World competition in China, airing in December. Her hair will be styled by Fiorio and she will definitely make our country proud!

Now that Ramona Amiri has been crowned Miss World Canada 2005, she begins her preparation for the Miss World competition in China this coming December.

As a vital part of her look, her hair must be transformed to "wow" the Miss World judges. Mr. Maurice Fiorio has the experience and expertise to create Ramona's new look and recently, he gave the young Miss Canada a hair make-over at his Yorkville salon. "It's all about sexy, edgy cuts that are easy to style and look fabulous", says Maurice.

Witness her hair transformation in these photographs and stay tuned for further developments on her journey to the Miss World pageant!
