Becoming a Hair Professional
In the beauty academy,
students will learn all about what it
takes to be at the leading-edge of
today’s hair styling industry. They will
become adept in such areas as hair
analysis, hair cutting, treating,
colouring, styling, extensions,
straightening, and client relationships.
In the 12-month “Pre-Apprenticeship
Course,” for example, students learn
these areas in a mixture of lectures and
clinics offered by the beauty school’s
instructors. They then take that
experience into the field, where they
put their skills to work in actual
salons, perfecting their craft on real
clients, supervised by instructors.

But students from around the world

as much for the hair school’s
environment as the curriculum.
Surrounded by a state-of-the-art
facility equipped with the latest
products and equipment, Fiorio’s
students are in the best possible
position to learn about what it takes to
succeed in today’s demanding salon
environment.
Students are also treated to small class
sizes, giving them the maximum
opportunity to learn hands-on from their
instructor. There are a number of
competitions and awards that students
can take advantage of, including a
professional photo shoot competition.
And there are also various volunteer
opportunities in which students can take
part, such as hair shows, fashion shows,
and fundraisers.
Upon graduation from the Fiorio
Beauty Academy, students have
the opportunity to work in one of the
eight Fiorio salons located across the
GTA or at the location in Victoria,
British Columbia. Over 75% of our
graduating students choose to continue
working in Fiorio locations and find the
transition a natural one.
