FIORIO VAUGHAN: MAKING WOMEN BEAUTIFUL

Monday, August 16th, 2010

Written By Athaina Tsifliklis

Wearing white from head to toe, the stylists at Fiorio Vaughan create a magnetic  atmosphere that leaves clients coming back for more. Living up to the reputable name, every stylist is talented, creative, and loves what they do.

Lucky for us, Antonio Piro, associate owner of Fiorio Vaughan, met the love of his life when he came to Canada nine years ago. Although he left his home in Italy to be with his wife, Piro made sure he didn’t leave his passion, zest for life, and breezy personality behind.

Piro enjoys exploring his creative side with short and edgy haircuts, but he assures clients that he only designs hairstyles that will suit their personality and lifestyle. “If I cut and style your hair and then you go home and you can’t style it yourself, that means I failed,” says Piro. Fiorio stylists always strive to combine creativity with manageability, making sure their clients look good every day, and not just on the day they visit the salon.

Surprised at 60!

On July 29th, 2009 Fiorio International, Revlon Professional and the many personalities from Cityline joined together in the surprise, 60th Birthday celebration for Maurice Fiorio.

The evening included a red carpet buzzing with media, guest host for the evening Paul McGuire, A Fashion show featuring custom designed pieces – a tribute in white, and much more.

Speeches from Hugh Wilson, General Manager of Colomer Canada, Chrissie Rejman, Producer for Cityline, Sons, Marc and Phillipe Fiorio, Brother Daniel Fiorio and long time college and Friend Gianfranco owner of the Yonge and St Clair Fiorio location.

As his car pulled up to the red carpet a look of shock and aw came over his face. He was greeted by Citylines crew for an immediate interview and then whisked away for a few shots on the red carpet. redcarpet1

As he entered the venue a loud roar came over the room. “Ladies and gentleman, the man of the evening, Maurice Fiorio!” shouted Paul McGuire.

The evening started out with a greeting from Paul McGuire, followed by a charming speech from Hugh Wilson, general manager of Colomer Canada and a long time golf buddy. Mr. Wilson was followed by Chrissie Rejman, Cityline’s producer and all the personalities who poked fun at some of Mr. Fiorio’s fashions on the show with a video montage that left guests roaring.
The speeches were followed by a Fashion show By Fiorio International, with clothing provided by Altered Couture, Hypercube Apparel and Artifice Clothing, all available at the Fashion District on Queen. The theme was white with layers of textures and black patent leather accessories. All clothing was made by Canadian designers and designed specifically for the show. The hair team was constructed by Gianfranco and Akjan from the Yonge & St Clair Fiorio location. Each stylists had two models and created each unique look around their model. The Gucci inspired make-up was fronted by Christine Cho and completed the high fashion look.

Following the Fashion show was a fashion photo shoot on top of the pool in the back of the venue. Guests gathered as the photographer Ryan Faubert, Ryan Faubert Photography, captured the beauty and elegance of each model.

Models were selected from Orange Model Management, Sutherland Models and B&M Models.

Concluding the evening were 3 more speeches from family and long time friend Gianfranco, owner of the Yonge & St Clair location. They toasted the evening with Champagne generously donated by Piper Heidsieck and a cake by Santaguida Fine Foods.

The evening was not only a Birthday celebration, but a celebration of achievement and prestige in the industry.
